Evaluation of Čerenkov Second Harmonic Generation in Planar Waveguides in the Fourier Domain

چکیده
Analytical expressions for Čerenkov second-harmonic-generation in planar waveguiding structures are derived, based on evaluation of the conversion in the Fourier domain, assuming no depletion of the fundamental guided beam. The derivation is much shorter than that in existing methods and allows for a relatively simple interpretation of the main features.

Dynamic Harmonic Analysis of Long Term over Voltages Based on Time Varying Fourier series in Extended Harmonic Domain
Harmonics have become an important issue in modern power systems. The widespread penetration of non-linear loads to emerging power systems has turned power quality analysis into an important operation issue under both steady state and transient conditions. This paper employs an Extended Harmonic Domain (EHD) based framework for dynamic analysis of long term analysis over voltages during the tra...
متن کاملSecond-harmonic generation in planar waveguides of doped silica.
Second-harmonic generation was produced in germanium-doped silica planar waveguides prepared by simulfaneous illumination with 1064- and 532-nm laser light. During preparation using prism coupling to specific waveguiding modes, the film-generated second-harmonic intensity grew as a function of preparation time until it saturated. The growth rate and saturation level for p-polarized second-harmo...
متن کاملHarmonic Modeling of Inrush Current in Core Type Power Transformers Using Hartley Transform
This paper presents a new method for evaluation and simulation of inrush current in various transformers using operational matrices and Hartley transform. Unlike most of the previous works, time and frequency domain calculations are conducted simultaneously. Mathematical equations are first represented to compute the inrush current based on reiteration and then Hartley transform is used to stud...
متن کاملA contribution to approximate analytical evaluation of Fourier series via an Applied Analysis standpoint; an application in turbulence spectrum of eddies
In the present paper, we shall attempt to make a contribution to approximate analytical evaluation of the harmonic decomposition of an arbitrary continuous function. The basic assumption is that the class of functions that we investigate here, except the verification of Dirichlet's principles, is concurrently able to be expanded in Taylor's representation, over a particular interval of their do...
متن کاملEvolution of the Intensity Profile of Cerenkov Second-Harmonic Radiation with Propagation Distance in Planar Waveguides
Using coupled mode theory, we have studied the output intensity profile of Cerenkov second-harmonic radiation from planar waveguides as a function of the propagation distance. In particular, we have obtained the variation of the intensity profile taking into account the effect of prism coupling as well as propagation loss, and have shown that the second-harmonic radiation evolves into a beam-li...
